ABOUT ILUCIDY

Ilucidy is an investment strategy consulting firm that helps self-directed investors (i.e., investors who manage their own investment affairs) navigate the challenges and difficulties they may encounter when performing investment analysis on prospective investments.

Most investors understand the importance of performing thorough analysis before making an investment decision, but the hard part is knowing how exactly to carry out this work in a timely and efficient manner.

The goal is that, after working with us, clients will be able to successfully complete their investment analysis with the least difficulty possible, allowing them to make their investment decisions with full confidence.

Ilucidy IS NOT an investment or financial advising firm. That is, we DO NOT tell clients what sorts of investments they may want to look at, which financial products they may want to purchase, provide opinions on their investment decisions, or offer specific portfolio allocation strategies.

As stated in the previous question, we help investors figure out how to best perform their analysis – that’s it.

If you want some pointers with anything regarding the investment analysis process, we’ll do our best to provide them, but if you ask us which specific stocks are worth buying, which countries are worth investing in, what assets your portfolio should contain, or any other questions of a similar nature, they will not be answered.

We do not sell any online courses, e-books, or other information products.

The only thing that Ilucidy will charge for is our consulting service.

Ilucidy maintains a library of more than 150 articles (and counting) to help investors and investors-to-be learn about a wide variety of fundamental and niche investment topics. This content is 100% free, regularly expanded, and routinely updated.

Should you have any feedback about our articles or if there are specific topics you’d like to see covered, please let us know. We’re always looking for new ways to continuously improve our content.

For general inquiries, you can find out the different channels we can be reached at on our Contact page.

If you have a specific question you want to ask during a consulting session, feel free to ask but please remember that no investment or financial advice will be given.

WORKING WITH ILUCIDY

We work with self-directed investors, who are investors that manage all of their own investment affairs and have the agency to make all decisions. We are happy to work with anyone who fits this description regardless of age, years of experience, level of knowledge, or geographic location.

Again, clients from all over the world are welcome, but due to timezone differences there is no guarantee that we can serve all clients at a time that works best for both parties.

Consulting sessions are charged on an hourly basis, and the rate is $50/hour.

However, this price can be pro-rated if your session doesn’t last one hour, or if it goes a bit beyond.

For example, if your session lasts 45 minutes, then you pay $37.5 because you only used up 75% of the hour.

On the other hand, if your session lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes, then you pay $62.5: $50 for the first hour, then $12.5 because you only used up 25% of the next hour.

Because Ilucidy is based in Canada, all prices are denominated in CAD.

Your invoice will be mailed to you to confirm your scheduled time and balance owing.

First, future clients must fill out the application form, where they specify a few key details such as which prospective investment they’re looking at (e.g., you’re interested in investing in Apple stock), what materials they’re currently studying (annual reports, news articles, CFA reports, etc.), and the specific areas of their analysis they’re struggling with.

Upon completing the application form, future clients will then be directed to a booking page, whereby they book the specific date and times they wish to have their consulting session on.

Once these two things have been completed, clients will receive a couple of confirmation emails, and will finally be set up with their consulting session.

All sessions will be carried out via a video call. A link to the video call room will be sent to you ahead of your scheduled session. Clients aren’t required to show their faces if they don’t feel comfortable doing so but are welcome to do so if they wish.

The reason video calls are being used instead of a regular audio-only call is that video calls usually allow users to share their screens, which will make it a lot easier to go through any pertinent documents during the session if needed.

Yes, you certainly can. For example, if you feel that two, 1-hour sessions across two days are better than a single 2-hour session in a single day, then you can do that.

If you’re looking for tips on how to streamline your analytical process, which approaches to take when performing analysis, or anything else related solely to the analytical process, then we will do our best to ensure you get a satisfactory answer.

However, if you ask us for an opinion on the investment you’re looking at, or if you want an opinion on whether to buy or sell, no such answers will be given.

Remember, Ilucidy is not an investment or financial advising company, meaning we will not be telling you what specific actions to take. Our role is strictly to help you with your analytical work: whether you decide to pursue an investment operation or not is solely up to you.

GENERAL BUSINESS INQUIRIES

Sorry, but we don’t accept any sort of advertisements or sponsored posts. However, we are open to collaboration with other companies whose vision closely aligns with our own. If you’d like to collaborate with us, please reach out.

Because our consulting service requires us to make thorough preparations before hand, and because we give our undivided attention and time to clients during their sessions, we have a firm no-refund policy.

We understand that life happens, so we do our best to make accommodations to suit your needs if you’re serious about working with us.

However, if we feel that your accommodation proves to be too burdensome to us or starts to interfere with the needs of other clients, then we apologize but we won’t be able to go the extra mile to suit all your needs. This is to ensure all clients receive high-quality service, without favouring one over another.

For example, although our official consulting days run from Monday – Saturday, we can potentially make arrangements for a Sunday session, but a session at 10pm on a Sunday evening is pushing the limits of an already extraordinary circumstance.
